Grantee Update: Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department

2021 Grant Recipient $29,010: Community Grants Funds

Submitted by: Eric Lower, Fire Chief, Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department

When the Fire Dept was awarded the grant we were able to purchase 4 Air Packs.  Our firefighters have new air packs that are lighter and easier for them to wear. Plus the new packs have all the federally mandated safety devices on them to improve firefighter safety. With these air packs our community will benefit if and when they ever need the fire dept. Now when we arrive on scene we can have 3 firefighters geared up and ready to fight the fire the minute they get off the truck.  Without the grant there was no way we could purchase these air packs on our own.
